True Light Ministries International (TLMI) started in 1996 because of the plight of Liberian children fleeing the civil war and settling in our community. Some members of this organization saw the needs of these young people and tried to fill the gap with services that were not readily available. It was then we discovered that children from many nations were equally affected.
So, we opened our homes to provide tutoring and after-school help to any student in need. We grew from there to include sports and various outings that would help the children get adjusted to the American way of life.
