About Us

WHO WE ARE

A Nonprofit Organization

True Light Ministries International

True Light Ministries International (TLMI) started in 1996 because of the plight of Liberian children.  Some members of this organization saw the needs of young people in the community (including international students) and tried to fill the gap with services that were not readily available.

TLMI is a non-profit organization, established in 2004 as an outreach to orphaned and abandoned children. Currently, TLMI is involved in providing services such as, teaching coaching, tutoring, summer reading and literacy programs, field trips, Bible study, family counseling, etc. in the United States and in Liberia, West Africa.

Our Vision

Our vision is to support, encourage and promote the next generation in Christian living and education; and to actively advance the Kingdom of God.

Our History

Our initial plan was to donate funds to an orphanage in Monrovia for a Christmas celebration; however, the more we researched the problem the more we realized the depth of the need. With the direction of the Holy Spirit, we pooled our resources together and established TLMI to help alleviate some of the suffering. We can express with great joy that the Lord continues to move in the hearts of many to reach out to children who have experienced great lost because of wars, especially those from the Liberian Civil War.

The ministry has worked to provide services and resources to all children. We call on all people of goodwill to join us in letting the children live out God’s vision for them. Our hope and prayer is that we can unite to show those so affected that God has not abandoned them and God is a father that will never leave or forsake us.
